On Friday, July 5, 2024, Dr. Sakda Jampasa, Ms. Wassinee Saetun, and third-year students from the Department of Chemistry at Walailak University had the honor of guiding Prof. Dr. Andreas Stein, a professor from the Department of Chemistry at the University of Minnesota, USA, on a tour of various attractions in Nakhon Si Thammarat.

During this trip, the students took Prof. Dr. Stein to visit the Kiriwong community, renowned for its traditional tie-dye and batik fabrics. They explained the fabric-making processes and the importance of preserving local wisdom while also promoting community-based enterprises in the area.

In addition to visiting the Kiriwong community, the students and faculty also took Prof. Dr. Stein to explore key sites in Nakhon Si Thammarat, including the sacred and historically significant Wat Phra Mahathat Woramahawiihan and the Nakhon Si Thammarat National Museum, which showcases valuable ancient artifacts and cultural objects.

This tour not only allowed Prof. Dr. Stein to experience the beauty and history of Nakhon Si Thammarat but also provided an excellent opportunity for cultural exchange and fostering a deeper understanding of cultural diversity.
