Special Lecture from Prof. Dr. Andreas Stein

On July 4, 2024, the Department of Chemistry at Walailak University had the honor of hosting Prof. Dr. Andreas Stein, a distinguished professor from the Department of Chemistry at the University of Minnesota, USA. He delivered a special lecture to second- and third-year chemistry students, as well as interested individuals, on the topic “From Butterfly Wings to Trauma Medicine: The Power of Designed Porosity at the Nanoscale” in Room ST306 at Walailak University.

This lecture provided a unique opportunity for chemistry students to gain insights into international research. Prof. Dr. Andreas Stein shared his knowledge and experience regarding the design of nanoscale porosity, which is crucial for both education and research in chemistry.

The lecture covered the significance of designing nanoscale porous structures and their impact on the development of innovations in medical and materials science. It also discussed their applications across various fields, such as medicine related to trauma and treatment.

Students who attended the lecture gained new knowledge and inspiration for further studies in chemistry, enhancing their understanding and academic skills on an international level.

This special lecture is part of the Department of Chemistry’s efforts to enrich students’ knowledge and experiences, offering opportunities to learn from global experts and further develop their academic potential.
