Chemistry Team Visits P. Panich Rungrueng Palm Oil 2 Co., Ltd., Krabi Province

On Saturday, August 30, 2025, faculty members and students from the Chemistry Program, School of Science, Walailak University, led by Assoc.Prof.Dr. Kotchaphan Kanjana, Asst.Prof.Dr. Hathaichanok Kommen, and Ms. Wasinee Saetun, together with second- and third-year chemistry students, visited P. Panich Rungrueng Palm Oil 2 Co., Ltd. in Krabi Province. The company is one of the major enterprises in the palm oil industry in southern Thailand.

The field trip was organized as part of the course Chemical Management and Safety, with the objective of providing students the opportunity to experience real industrial practices. The program focused on processes for producing palm oil, quality control, chemical safety measures, and sustainable environmental management. Students observed the workflow from raw material intake to oil extraction to waste management, which enhanced their practical understanding and reinforced classroom knowledge effectively.

In addition, students gained inspiration and new perspectives on applying chemical knowledge to improve production quality and add value to palm oil products. These insights are not only beneficial to the palm oil industry but can also be applied to support farmers and strengthen the national economy in the long run.
