The Chemistry Program, School of Science, Walailak University, is proud to congratulate Ms. Napapat Supmek (Opal), a second-year chemistry student, who has been selected to participate in the prestigious ODOS Summer Camp in Singapore for six weeks. This achievement represents a major turning point in her academic journey and serves as an inspiration for fellow students. The ODOS Summer Camp (Outstanding Development Opportunity Scholarship) is an educational initiative that evolved from the “One District, One Scholarship” program. It aims to broaden educational opportunities for young Thais nationwide, helping them develop essential 21st-century skills through short-term international programs lasting 5–6 weeks. In 2025, a total of 928 scholarships were awarded, representing 878 districts across Thailand and 50 districts in Bangkok, with candidates selected through a rigorous and highly competitive process. Participants in the ODOS Summer Camp gain invaluable international exposure by studying and living at leading universities in nine countries: the United States, the United Kingdom, Finland, Estonia, Australia, China, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore. Altogether, the program offers 16 courses designed to enhance digital competencies while providing direct learning experiences with world-class technology companies such as AWS, Google, Microsoft, Huawei, Alibaba, Nokia, Canva, LinkedIn, Sony, and Nintendo.
Beyond academic enrichment, the program fosters inspiration and personal growth, encouraging participants to shape their future educational and career paths. It also creates opportunities for cultural exchange and adaptation in diverse societies—valuable experiences that will contribute to Thailand’s future development. Opal’s selection to join this program is not only a personal achievement but also a proud moment for the Chemistry Program and Walailak University. It highlights the potential of Walailak students to compete at a national level and sets an example for peers to dream big and take action toward their aspirations.
The Chemistry Program extends its best wishes to Opal for a fruitful experience in Singapore. May she gain knowledge, skills, and inspiration to share with others, helping to empower her peers and contribute to building a stronger future for Thailand.
