On December 14, 2025, the Biology Program, School of Science, Walailak University, organized its first field trip for first-year students in the course Field Trip in Plant Systematics. The activity aimed to provide hands-on experience in collecting plant specimens in natural environments. Senior students from the second year also participated by guiding proper sampling techniques and learning the identification of plant families and their key characteristics as part of the Plant Systematics course.
This field activity reflects the university’s commitment to active learning, combining classroom knowledge with practical experience. It helps students develop essential skills through real-world practice, preparing them for future careers or advanced studies.
Relevant courses include:
- BIO62-331 Plant Taxonomy Laboratory
- SCB67-260 Plant Systematics
- SCB67-190 Field Study in Plant Systematics
Objectives of the Activity
- To enable students to gain practical skills through real-world experience in plant taxonomy and systematics.
- To help students apply their knowledge in future careers or higher-level studies.
