Four students from the Bachelor of Education Program, School of Science, Walailak University — Mr. Patcharapol Jitprapai, Ms. Runchida Saengsri, Ms. Apinya Meednui, and Ms. Phromphon Yoma — participated in the “Voices Across Cultures: Eurasian Thoughts and Practices on Student Exchange and Mobility” event on 23 March 2026 at West Visayas State University (WVSU), Philippines, as part of the Pre-Service Student Teacher Exchange in Southeast Asia (SEA-Teacher) Project.
The event was organized by the International and Local Linkages Office in collaboration with the College of Education (COE), WVSU, providing a platform for students from different countries to exchange perspectives, experiences, and ideas on education, cross-cultural learning, and student exchange and mobility.
During the event, the Walailak University students shared their experiences participating in the SEA-Teacher Project, including teaching and learning approaches, student life, and educational experiences in Thailand, as well as their experiences living and undertaking their teaching practicum at the host institution in the Philippines. Their participation provided a valuable opportunity to engage with international students and further develop their communication skills in a multicultural and international setting.
The event also featured Eugénie Mouret and Maëlys Bourdin, student interns from France, who shared perspectives on French culture, education, and experiences in student exchange and mobility. Their contributions encouraged meaningful discussions among students from Thailand, France, and the Philippines.
The event was honored by the participation of Dr. Ma. Pilar Malata, Dean of the Office of Student Affairs, who supported initiatives promoting international collaboration and cross-cultural learning within the university. Students from the College of Education (COE) and the College of Communication (COC) also joined the exchange of ideas through an online platform.
The participation of Walailak University students reflects the commitment of the Bachelor of Education Program, School of Science, Walailak University, to providing students with opportunities to gain authentic international experiences, strengthen communication and intercultural skills, and develop an appreciation of cultural diversity. These experiences are essential in preparing future teachers to work effectively in an increasingly interconnected world.
The ongoing collaboration between Walailak University and West Visayas State University through the SEA-Teacher Project also plays an important role in strengthening academic networks and providing students with continuous opportunities for professional and personal development through international learning experiences.
