On 26 November 2025, prior to the Walailak University Executive Committee Meeting No. 8/2025, held at the Mok Lan Room, 3rd Floor, Professor Dr. Wijit Srisa-an Building, Walailak University, Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University, presented bouquets of flowers to students and staff in recognition of their achievements and contributions that brought honor and recognition to the University.
Among the recipients was Mr. Phakin Ekmanee, a third-year student in the Marine Science Program and a member of the Walailak University Basketball Team. He received a bouquet of flowers from the University President in recognition of the team’s achievement as First Runner-up at the 24th IMT-GT Varsity Carnival TSU, held from 28–31 October 2025.
The Walailak University Basketball Team participated in the basketball competition as part of the 24th IMT-GT Varsity Carnival TSU. The team advanced to the final round and ultimately finished as second place, earning the First Runner-up title in the tournament.
The achievement reflects the dedication, teamwork, and commitment of the students in representing Walailak University on an international sporting stage.
